Secure, Affordable, and Participatory Housing

Roundhouse Co-op is a non-profit housing society dedicated to providing secure, long-term, and affordable housing in Vancouver’s False Creek North. We are a community of members, not tenants, unified by a commitment to self-governance and co-operation.

A Unique Model of Ownership

Our model is distinct from traditional rentals. When you become a member of Roundhouse Co-op, you:

  • Purchase a Membership Share: This share grants you democratic rights within the co-op.
  • Elect the Board of Directors: The community’s direction is directly managed by a board elected from—and by—the membership.
  • Take Part in Operation: Members are expected to actively participate in the running of the co-op, from committees and maintenance to social activities. This involvement is what creates our strong sense of community and keeps our housing costs stable.

We proudly offer affordable options, sometimes including rent-geared-to-income units to support low-income households, ensuring our community remains diverse and inclusive.

Location and Lifestyle

Our location is at the center of convenience: a walker’s and rider’s paradise with unparalleled access to public transit and excellent biking infrastructure. The co-op also provides shared amenities, such as our popular rooftop garden project, where members come together to cultivate not just plants, but relationships.
